Quantitative Specialist (Commodities Index Trading) New York, United States Permanent contract Corporate and Investment Banking Develop and improve existing processes to become owner of the index fixings and weights production on the trading side. Responsible for volatility index maintenance processes, option settlements retrieval to weights and cash component daily computation to ensure correct risks for trading and smooth valuation. Propose improvements to the existing index maintenance process in order to make the process more reliable and automatic in order to reduce operational risk. Collaborate with sales teams globally to answer client requests and enrich index offering. Be the point of entry for new index creations. Improve upon the existing strategy generator for systematic option strategies. Generate ideas from an option settlements database and option strategy backtester. Remain knowledgeable of the mechanics of options trading and how to invest in systematic option strategies. Interact with volatility traders and pricers to generate option based ideas and trigger more option based index trades. Propose new index strategies with the help and guidance of trading. Ensure that the index platform can rely on powerful and stable index backtesting tools. Create reports and Profit and Loss explanation tools for traders and sales. Collaborate with the Internal Valuation Team and Bank's Index Platform to get to the target of triple computation of index fixings and double computation of weights. Profile Required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Financial Engineering or a related field, plus 3 years of professional experience working with a global trading floor at a global financial institution performing maintenance and design of traded indices (including index fixings and weights production ) using software tools (including C#.Net, Python scripts, and Python programming language) to manage the roll, rebalancing and client orders of products including Commodity indices. Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience working on all stages of Commodities Index products life cycle (including initial design, first implementation, back tests, iterations to meet the client target, documentation of rules, creation of the product in the referential and in the trading system, contribution of a daily valuation to external platforms and automation of the management of the product); 3 years of professional experience researching and analyzing new systematic risk premia strategies and existing strategies to identify possible enhancements, studying competition, and implementation of designs based on research; any professional experience liaising with multiple departments within the U.S. and abroad; any professional experience using VBA and Excel Macros to develop quantitative models to analyze and forecast execution profitability; any professional experience working with Commodities Index pricers, traders, sales and engineering teams in the maintenance and development of Index trades at a global financial institution.
