_ The position is responsible for establishing and implementing customer focused and technologically driven growth strategies. These strategies will align with our vision of developing and integrating new technologies ahead of market trends and enhancing existing technologies that leverage our industry-leading resources. This role requires a strong technology acumen to evolve our overall business portfolio to include a product and platform strategy with an eye towards delivering leading innovative concepts and solutions, while enhancing and extending our core infrastructure business as a designer, builder, and manager of complex projects. The position will translate the overall business goals into an executable strategy that influences key stakeholders and transforms the unit from a designer and builder of customer projects to a developer and provider of end-to-end solutions to take the mobility of goods and people to the next level.. Responsibilities:. Focus on client engagement to deeply understand client needs and work with clients to develop solutions and position for negotiated agreements, where possible, and gain knowledge of opportunities well before the RFQ/RFP stages.. Broadly increase our understanding of emerging technologies and leverage that knowledge to uncover new monetization opportunities in the Smart Cities and Critical Infrastructure Protection markets using, artificial intelligence, cognitive design, machine learning, cyber, autonomous and connected systems and Internet of Things.. Develop and implement software solutions contractual, pricing and sales models within a predominantly services sales operation that primarily responds to customer RFPs.. Set business development goals and growth targets for the business unit in alignment with corporate sales objectives and work with the critical infrastructure business development and market leaders to implement the goals and targets.. Oversee and develop the new initiative pipeline and shift the business unit capabilities that will enable the future state of the business unit while growing the top and bottom line of the existing business.. Establish product positioning, promotion, competitive analysis and partnership plans.. Lead the team to identify, develop and maintain profitable customer relationships. Understand potential customer strategies and needs and align with Parsons current and potential offerings.. Lead business unit client account management.. Drive business deals from concept to implementation. Infuse technical, business, strategy, financial, legal and political requirements.. Champion cross-functional business discussions of new product/business ideas to further evolve the organizations operations. Assess the strategic fit and values of new business ideas, manage the prioritization process of the innovation pipeline, and allocate resources to test new initiatives.. Ensure that training and technology investments are made so the business development, client account management and operations teams understand and sell Parsons capabilities. Lead efforts to collaborate and integrate across business units to maximize resources and opportunities for growth.. Possess mature relationships with leaders in industry leading mobility and infrastructure technology firms and evolve the Parsons Infrastructure brand recognition.. Establish key industry alliances and partnerships.. Identify, recruit, retain, and develop high performing talent.. Lead the timely preparation and quality of business unit proposals, management of bids and proposal budgets, establish pricing strategies.. Provide executive level oversight and leadership of our Core Services functions to include; Marketing and Proposal Development.. Prepare business development plans and budgets, including presentations and briefings.. Build and implement effective sales/marketing initiatives.. Required Experience, Competencies and Skills:. At least 15+ years of experience managing and delivering results in a product management, market research, business development, strategy, M&A or related position. Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Economics, or related field. MBA Preferred. Proven ability to meet sales goals in excess of $300MM in new orders or greater. Proven ability to create software-based solutions business models and successfully implement the same. Background includes working on Smart Cities Initiatives and/or Critical Infrastructure Protection to include Cyber Security for critical mission assets, especially ICS and SCADA systems. Ability to assess the strategic fit and values of new business ideas, manage the prioritization of the innovation pipeline, and allocates resources to test new initiatives in the business unit. Strong leadership and communication skills to work with senior executives across various geographies and markets. Strong people development and influencing skills; able to build and drive extended and virtual teams. External facing and serve as an executive leader for customers/clients as well as lead and coordinate efforts of internal team of geographic and/or market BD staff. Proven analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions through clearly communicating data insights to others. Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners. Working knowledge or demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, business and competitive landscape. Ability to work collaboratively in a leadership role with cross functional teams throughout the organization. Strong knowledge of transformational technologies.
