The Sussex and East Surrey Commissioners are an equal opportunities employer, and our workforce is currently under-represented from people from Black and Minority Ethnic and disabled communities. Sussex and East Surrey CCGs are signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

Crawley CCG, Horsham Mid Sussex CCG and East Surrey CCG (together forming the North Place of the Sussex and East Surrey STP) are seeking an ambitious and professional Executive Medical Director.
The Executive Medical Director will work closely with the Governing Body, Managing Director, Accountable Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Senior Management Team and Clinical Chair to deliver the CCGs' strategy and business plan and determine the acquisition and deployment of resources to achieve these objectives.
We are an ambitious group of organisations with big plans for the health of local people. We are looking for equally ambitious people to join us at a time of significant system change and believe clinical leadership is key in shaping the future of health care services in in our area.
This role is an internal leadership role, focussed on supporting and line managing Clinical Leads working within the CCGs so they can focus us to achieve a number of goals including being responsive to localised service user needs, being better able to respond to changes in the wider health sector and working closer with our partners to achieve the best quality services for our communities.
You will be required to work four to six sessions per week which must include Tuesday and Thursday to coincide with Governing Body and Clinical Lead days. Although this role is not currently a Governing Body role, the post holder will be required to attend Governing Body and committee meetings.
The three CCGs have a very diverse demographic profile and significant levels of depravation and health inequalities which offers both a challenge and opportunity to drive through a consistent improvement in health outcomes.
If you are looking for a role that really does make a difference for people, want to help improve health services in this area and want to work with inspirational and professional people, then you should consider applying for this job.
If you wish to have an informal and confidential discussion about this role please contact Peter Kottlar, Managing Director via Catherine Winsbury 01293 600300 ext. 4232, ...@nhs.net
Closing date for applicationsis 8th August 2019.

1. Closing date: we reserve the right to amend the closing date based upon the number of applications received. Vacancies attracting a high volume of applications may therefore close earlier than advertised.
2. Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. Please be aware that anyone who is included in the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) barred lists will commit an offence if they engage, or seek or offer to engage, in a regulated activity from which they are barred.
6. General: this post will be subject to review under the relevant NHS Terms and Conditions of Service.
7. Please note travel expenses to attend interview will need to be met by applicants.
