Reports to the center director. Responsible for the operation of student services, which includes student standards of conduct, incentive system, legal services, student government (SGA), recreation, and leadership. + Plan, coordinate and supervise the administrative and programmatic activities of the department. + Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, implement departmental changes as approved by the center director and coordinated with the human resources manager prior to implementation. + Assist the center director in development of departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures. + Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting student services; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives; implement SWOT training for students in career preparation period. + Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports. + Manage systems to ensure students adhere to all center rules and regulations; monitor daily attendance and class absences. + Determine and administer disciplinary action for students who have violated rules of conduct; coordinate and monitor center boards and peer court functions, and actions. + Act as liaison between courts and other judicial agencies; solicit legal representation for students and coordinate bail bond activities when required. + Provide supervision of students consistent with state and local parole rules and regulations. + Counsel students when their behavior on or off center is inappropriate. + Conduct introduction and training on standards of conduct for staff and students. + Prepare and update student handbook; coordinate student personnel program with other center staff; maintain records and reports on activities. + Act as liaison between courts and other judicial agencies; solicit legal representation for students and coordinate bail bond activities when required. + Provide supervision of students consistent with state and local parole rules and regulations. + Counsel students when their behavior on or off center is inappropriate. + Conduct introduction and training on standards of conduct for staff and students. + Prepare and update student handbook; coordinate student personnel program with other center staff; maintain records and reports on activities. + Coordinate and conduct the SGA program, including the administration of the student benefit fund; provide for student participation in establishment of rules. + Coordinate with other center staff concerning behavior management and SGA matters. + Report all serious/critical incidents (Significant Incident Reports - SIR) in accordance with established guidelines and requirements; coordinate with team members. + Provide feedback to staff on results of disciplinary actions administered to students. + Oversee leadership training for student government officers. Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelors degress and two years related experiecne required. Directly related expereicne may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements. Experience working with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficency also required.
