Department Writing Center Work Schedule

Works 5-20 hours within our open hours, which are Mon-Thurs 10-8, Fri 10-4, Sat 12-5, and Sun 4-10.

Job Summary/Basic Function

Work with students individually to improve their writing. Sessions may focus on brainstorming, understanding the prompt, organization, supporting an argument, incorporating research, grammar, and citations.

Specific Responsibilities

Assists students from all departments at all stage of the writing process. Works with organization, brainstorming, grammar, citations, and support.

Required Relevant Education & Experience

Must have completed at least two college level Composition classes with a grade of B or above.

Preferred Relevant Education and Experience

Experience learning a second language is preferred. A tutoring or teaching background is also preferred.
