The Director will: Quickly develop an in-depth understanding of the business and focus on issues ranging from organic growth, M&A, go-to-market, customer experience, cost reduction and operational efficiency. Build a trust-advisory relationship with the business leadership team and develop strategic recommendations for improving and evolving the business. Work across company leadership to gain buy-in and drive implementation of strategic recommendations, while serving as a strategic thought partner to the executive team. Manage engagements ranging from longer-term opportunities and threats, to tactical projects that support immediate business objectives and priorities. Location required: San Jose, CA Responsibilities: Advising Growth and Profitability Strategy Provides strategic advice to senior executive management regarding overall targeted growth and operational efficiency Provides ongoing strategic guidance to plan and manage growth of business unit revenues and market share. Facilitates senior level discussions around organic and inorganic growth options, and plays an active role in guiding transactions to a successful close. Designs and develops business models and market strategies that increase organizational effectiveness. Drives operational efficiency initiatives that improve business unit profitability Providing Thought & Team Leadership Demonstrates innovative thought leadership by coaching and advising VP, SVP and EVP-level executives as appropriate. Creates a performance driven culture that positions the Corporate Strategy team as a trusted partner across HPE Influences C-level executives on a wide range of business issues, including risk management and implementation tactics. Provides strong leadership, develops clear goals, mentors and coaches junior team members and manages / drives change. Applying Financial Rigor Develops financially sound, executable, data-driven business strategies that increase shareholder value. Supports HPE and business unit leadership team decision making with rigorous financial analysis and modelling. Qualifications / Candidate Profile Undergraduate degree required Engineering experience and top 10 MBA preferred Extensive experience at a top 3 strategy consulting firm required 8+ years of results-oriented strategy executive experience, with an ability to articulate a global vision for the organization 6+ years of experience managing, motivating and retaining a high-performance team Demonstrated ability to build relationships at the C-level, and manage complex cross-functional initiatives with minimal direction Experience working with enterprise technology organizations, either as a strategic advisor or as an internal strategy executive Operational background and demonstrated success in leading complex projects and programs across multiple business models and global business units Proven track record of translating high level strategy into actionable operational plans Passion for catalyzing and driving change, and the skills to develop and drive strategic initiatives across all facets of HPEs enterprise businesses Ability to articulate & convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner 1049585 HPE is an equal opportunity employer/Female/Minority/Individual with Disabilities/Protected Veteran Status Testimonials Vision is key to embrace change and gravitate towards the future.
