Job Title: Forklift Operator IIIJob Location: Memphis, TNFunction of Job:The intent of this position is to perform functions in logistics through physical and electronic goods movements. The responsibilities include but will not be limited to: material handling, pallet movements within operations and the warehouse, understanding of SAP functions, proper loading procedures, keeping work area clean, and complete assignments from group leader and supervisor. Associates must have the ability to operate all lifts in the area which include but are not limited the following: Deep Reach Lift, Slip Sheet Lift, and Counter Balance Lift.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Understand and follow current good manufacturing practices, safety instructions and procedures (reference safety practices), plant dress codes, hygiene standards and housekeeping requirements unique to the work area and job classification.2. Must have exemplary computer skills and SAP skills.3. Position requires warehouse associate be able to work flexible hours and may require overtime, which includes weekends possibly holidays4. Must know how to operate a slip sheet and counter balance forklift, high bay deep reach truck & hold a valid forklift License from Hershey. Also need to have an understanding of other warehouse equipment include: scan guns, pallet jacks (electronic and manual), robot cells, conveying equipment, etc.5. Excellent work, safety, and attendance record.6. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.7. Must be able to multitask and learn several different types of equipment /yard tractor.8. Must be flexible to do any job that is assigned in the warehouse.9. Good fundamental knowledge of math10. Strong communication skills11. Must pass an eye exam.12. Must be able to do Month end inventory each Month.13. Must be willing or qualified to obtain a CDL license in order to meet federally required by the Department of Transportation. (CDL needs will be at the discretion of the warehouse supervisor.)14. Responsible for equipment and area ownership (i.e. 5S, Autonomous Maintenance - AM)15. Machine (i.e. industrial trucks) and associated equipment disassembly and assembly, cleaning, lubrication, changeover and PM as required.16. Be willing to learn and demonstrate mastery of various warehouse functions. Need to possess a strong capability for attention to detailOther Duties and Responsibilities:1. Must have a safety mindset at all times. Have a willingness to identify and report safety outages and unsafe work behaviors.2. Participate in departmental meetings as required (i.e. daily, weekly, and monthly).3. Must have a quality mindset at all times. Be able to complete all standard quality procedures and quality regulatory requirements.4. Must clean your area during and before change of shift.5. Must work well in a team environment.Minimum Requirements:Education or Experience: Computer SAP skills, Certified Forklift skills and CDL License (preferred) Certificate: None. Must be able to pass a forklift test on lifts and equipment used in the warehouse function & Tennessee CDL Exam. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to other employees or customers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, and subtract, multiply and divide. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with situations involving several variables. Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions. Ability to observe and read instruments, gauges, dials, etc. to determine operating conditions. Ability to inspect, examine and observe for obvious product or equipment defects not easily identified. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently stand; regularly push/pull force of up to 50 pounds; and regularly walk, crouch, bend at waist, turn, and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Additionally, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and an ability to adjust focus are required to perform this job. CDL physicals are a requirement for this job every two years. Work Environment: The noise level of the work environment is usually loud.
