Duration: Consulting Position, 12 month contract
Location: Painted Post, NY 14870
Job Title: Wireless Network Engineer
Shift: Full time 40 hours per week 8 AM- 5 PM

Scope of Position:
This candidate will be responsible for the new design, equipment recommendation, project cost estimation/forecasting, equipment ordering, and overseeing installation. Wireless network planning, management, design, deployment, and configuration across company sites. The successful candidate will work on wireless infrastructure projects in collaboration with business partners and IT operations and engineering teams to deploy, optimize, and maintain wireless/network systems.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • BS in Computer Science /Systems Management/IT Related field
  • CCNA-Wireless or CWNA certification
  • 5+ years of experience in LAN and Wireless LAN implementation, troubleshooting and design.
  • Core routing and switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
  • Strong experience supporting, configuring, and deploying solutions based on Cisco wireless products including lightweight access points and wireless LAN controllers
  • Experience taking wireless site surveys & planning RF coverage and deployments using tools like Fluke / NetScout AirMagnet, Ekahau, or iBwave Wi-Fi
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing network access control - Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) or Cisco Access Control System (ACS)
  • Knowledge of authentication protocols, including TACAS/RADIUS/802.1x
  • Configuration and installation of LAN electronics: network routers and switches.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs
  • Ability to manage all technical aspects of complex projects
  • Self-starter who takes ownership for deliverables and deadlines
  • Effective customer relationship skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio
